Cultura Maya

The second half of my senior thesis, focused on physical art displayed in a storybook setting. My project is an exploration of my geographical heritage through the lens of a modern, first-generation Hispanic-American. I have taken Mayan archetypes and embodied them through myself in illustrative, pop-up style snapshots. My project grapples with the ideas of mortality, tradition, and even gender conventions through these pieces.
